Republic gold (also known as "Ata Lira" among the public) is considered the most prestigious investment gold in the history of the Turkish Republic. It has 22 karat (916.6 millesimal) purity and weighs 7.20 grams. It features Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's portrait on the obverse and a crescent-star motif on the reverse.

The Republic gold price is determined based on the full gold price. At 7.20 grams, it is 0.20 grams heavier than full gold (7.00 grams). In addition to this weight difference, Republic gold carries an extra premium due to its historical and collectible value. This premium can vary between 2-5% depending on market conditions.

The difference between Republic gold, Resat gold, and Hamit gold depends on the minting period. Republic gold was minted in the Republic era after 1923, Resat gold during the reign of Sultan Mehmed V Resad (1909-1918), and Hamit gold during Sultan Abdulhamid II's reign (1876-1909). All three are 22 karat with similar weights, but those from the Ottoman era command higher collector premiums due to their rarity.
