Half gold is a coin minted by the Turkish State Mint with 22 karat (916.6 millesimal) purity and 3.50 gram weight. As the name suggests, it weighs half of a full gold coin and twice a quarter gold coin.

Half gold is particularly preferred as a gift option by upper-middle income groups at engagement and wedding celebrations. It serves as an ideal balance point when quarter gold feels insufficient and full gold feels excessive.

When evaluated as an investment instrument, half gold, like other coin golds, is more expensive per gram than gram gold. Mint premium, labor costs, and physical delivery convenience are the main reasons for this price difference. However, gram gold is more economical for large investments, and quarter gold for smaller amounts.
